My Yoga Testimonial
“Yogurt” was the code word I was asked to use when I was venturing off to stay at the ashram/yoga retreat during the summer of 2000. My roommate at the time was less sure of my adventure than I was and if things got really bad…then “frozen yogurt” was the phrase to indicate that I needed her to save me from yoga-ville. I was participating in a “karma yoga” program, which was basically a work exchange for my stay. Each day started with yoga and was followed by a full work day spending time in the gardens, kitchens and on the ground. The quiet time of reflection seeped into my soul and what I didn’t realize until after I left was that it had changed me. It’s indescribable what I experienced really, but I know that I walked taller; my feet felt more firmly planted to the earth; I felt more connected to nature, to others and to myself than ever before. I received comments like “You’re still Tracey, but you’re different”. It was a simple way of living and I fell in love with it. It goes without saying that Red Thread Retreat just seems to fit into the fabric of my being. No matter what your perceived view or experience of yoga is, there is a place for you on our 2000 sq foot bamboo floor. OM
